Charisma is the fragrance of the soul. – Toba Beta
Photography can be more than simply ‘what you see is what you get’. Creative photography can take us to whole new worlds – real and imagined.
Like surreal art, photographic art can add charisma to a home by becoming a talking point or a way for the art owner to express their individuality.
Here, we look to the land, the sea and the sky to reveal art that’s touching, amusing and – at times – a little bit odd.
Which will you choose for your home?
Land
Land is not merely soil, it is a fountain of energy flowing through a circuit of soils, plants and animals. – Aldo Leopold
Land is the secure ground of home. It’s the place we always come back to – where we feel safe.
We share our land with flora and fauna, making it a feast for a photographer’s eyes. On land, there is never a dull moment, even when all alone.
Sea
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Many of us have the opportunity to explore the ocean by boat and some of us discover more through swimming, snorkelling and diving. But underwater photographers spend inordinate amounts of time getting the right shot.
Some photographers take it to the next level, photo editing subjects in places they don’t usually inhabit or subjects that do not otherwise exist, creating something fantastical – a mystical delight for the senses.
Sky
Excuse me while I kiss the sky. – Jimi Hendrix
Often when we think sky, we think ‘blue’ which is why our beach prints are so popular. But to add some charisma to your home, it’s time to think beyond the perfect day and embrace all of its glorious shades.
Storm clouds build passion. Sunrises gives us hope. Sunsets bring us love.
